Job description

Overview

Work as an individual contributor in the GA Substation Automation engineering team, configuring Substation Automation products and communication protocols and delivering engineering tasks based on given inputs. Coordinate with colleagues, counterparts and cross-functional departments to clarify queries and complete tasks.

What you'll do

  • Prepare system architecture.
  • Prepare IO signal lists.
  • Configure MicroSCADA family products, including SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600 and DMS600, and communication protocols including IEC61850, IEC101, IC104 and Modbus.
  • Analyze customer specifications to understand requests and prepare reliable technical solutions.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams including Primary, Project Management and Production, when required.
  • Self-review documents before submitting them to the Lead Engineer.
  • Generate preliminary BOM by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing it.
  • Prepare complete Digital Control & Protection drawings as part of Digital Substation with NCITs, MU’s, SAM600 modules and others.
  • Adhere to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base by creating KB articles and FAQs.
  • Participate in training and improve product and process knowledge.
  • Interact with counterparts to get or clarify queries in the absence of the Lead or in some cases.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in B.E or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have 5 -8 years of experience.
  • Relevant work experience on MicroSCADA family products, including SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600 and DMS600.
  • Exposure to SYS600 engineering tools, including View builder and Display builder.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols including IEC61850, IEC101, IC104 and Modbus.
  • Familiarity with codes and applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
  • Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
