Overview
Support the execution of Protection and Control engineering as part of the GA Secondary team. Create electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents using AutoCAD Electrical, deliver tasks from given inputs, coordinate with colleagues and other departments, and clarify queries with counterparts when required.
What you'll do
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams and Protection Single Line Diagrams.
- Prepare panel layouts and bills of materials.
- Prepare Protection and Control panel schematics for medium/high-voltage substations.
- Prepare junction boxes for CT, VT, and density monitors, and perform AC/DC load calculations.
- Prepare trip matrices and IO signal lists.
- Prepare interlocking tables and schematics for various busbar configurations.
- Address technical queries raised by customers during project execution, if required.
- Interact with Primary, Project Management, Production, and other cross-functional teams when required.
- Self-review documents before submitting them to the Lead Engineer.
- Generate preliminary BOMs by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing them.
- Prepare mimic boards in line with SLD and layout drawings.
- Understand and prepare communication architecture diagrams.
- Prepare protection schematics for transformer, line, and busbar applications when protection is integrated in LCC.
- Select Bay Control Units and other protection IEDs.
- Prepare complete Digital Control & Protection drawings for digital substations with NCITs, MUs, SAM600 modules, and related equipment.
- Configure and test relays.
- Adhere to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Take responsibility for personal actions while caring for colleagues and the business in line with safety and integrity values.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in B.E or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 -8 years of experience.
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical tools.
- Very good knowledge of Protection & Control Systems for T & D / Gen.
- Familiarity with codes and applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Nice to have
- Relay configuration and testing experience is an added advantage.
