Summer Internship – Subsurface – Geophysics

Overview

A 10-week summer internship in the Geophysics team of bp's Subsurface programme, supporting the acquisition, processing, interpretation and analysis of seismic and other geophysical datasets to build subsurface images.

What you'll do

• Work on projects and support your team to find the best solutions
• Help maintain performance within your team and for bp as a company
• Build relationships within bp and with external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams
• Demonstrate drive and dedication through the bp values, with an emphasis on safety

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in geophysics or any geoscience discipline
• CGPA of 7 and above
• Class of 2028, eligible for a 10-week internship between May and July 2027
• Willingness to learn, a passion to excel and deliver results

Nice to have

• Demonstrable data science skills, advantageous for any geoscience candidate
• Proficiency in using statistical methods to interrogate large datasets for geological insight
• Application of scripting languages such as Python and R, and development environments such as Jupyter and RStudio

Details

• Based in the Pune office
• No travel expected
• Not eligible for relocation assistance
• Not available for remote working
• Assessed internship that may serve as a pathway to the 2028 graduate programme, subject to business needs
