Overview
Supplier Engineer for Electrical/Quality work focused on ensuring engineering drawing and specification integrity across suppliers, supporting quality and manufacturability during new product development and introduction.
What you'll do
- Ensure engineering drawing requirements are clear and communicated to supporting suppliers.
- Coordinate with New Product Introduction teams so suppliers participate in specification development and review.
- Investigate alternate manufacturing processes using project management and quality tools to improve cost, quality, and reliability.
- Support supplier selection and development of a supply base targeting quality, value/cost, delivery, and technology.
- Assist supplier technical audits, evaluating performance and capability and driving continuous improvement.
- Support quality problem resolution and incident management using root cause and corrective action.
- Conduct supplier production assessments to verify serial production readiness for transferred and new modules.
What you'll need
- Knowledge and experience in the electrical/quality discipline, building higher-level skills.
- Ability to analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.
- Proficiency in AC Boxes, Electrical Rotating Machines, Transformers, Cable Harness, and Electrical OEM Components.
- Knowledge of IPC610, IPC620, IE56, IEC 60439-1, IEC 61439-1, and UL certifications (including UL 508A MTR, etc.).
- Experience with Electrical load testing (AC Box), Electrical Winding Testing, Routine Testing, and Type Testing for AC Motor and DC Motors.
- Calibration of electrical and mechanical instruments per ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL.
- Ability to evaluate technical requirements of new and existing products and recommend materials to Design Engineering for savings, lead time reduction, improvements, increased life, or risk mitigation.
