Sustainability Engineer

Overview

Sustainability Engineer responsible for supporting ESG strategy, integrating sustainability into greenfield projects, managing environmental/EHS performance, and enabling ESG reporting and compliance.

What you'll do

• Support development and execution of ESG strategy aligned with business and project goals.
• Embed ESG requirements in site selection, engineering development, utilities, and contractor management for greenfield facilities.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits, monitoring energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas metrics.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain ESG data for reporting and disclosures using AI-enabled reporting tools.
• Coordinate with Project, Facilities, EHS, Procurement, and Operations teams to support vendor/contractor ESG compliance.
• Support decarbonization and resource-efficiency efforts including carbon footprint assessment and reduction.
• Support continuous improvement by benchmarking site performance and assisting with ESG target setting and tracking.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, EHS, or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in Sustainability, ESG, or EHS roles.
• Knowledge of ESG frameworks and environmental compliance and regulations.
• Experience with carbon accounting and sustainability metrics.
• Data analysis and reporting tool skills including Excel and Power BI, plus ESG software.
• Ability to bring AI to bear for sustainability metrics.
