Overview

Tax Supervisor for Financial Services, Hedge Funds. The role provides detailed review and analysis of complex hedge fund partnership tax returns and supervises staff and interns.

What you'll do

• Provide detail review and analysis of complex hedge fund partnership tax returns.
• Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team, managing risk for both the client and the firm.
• Interact directly with clients, handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
• Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members.
• Perform, document, and summarize research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
• Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional or local accounting firm; or equivalent in industry or with a law firm.
• CPA, CA, EA is mandatory.
• Prior tax compliance and consulting experience serving Asset Management clients.
• Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
• Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements.

Nice to have

• Masters of Accounting, Masters of Taxation or MBA preferred.
• Proven track record managing client engagements from start-to-end.
