Technical Documentation and Content Engineer, Claude Docs

Overview

You will own documentation for Claude apps and manage the unification layer across Claude Docs, including architecture, standards, and engineered systems that keep documentation quality high at scale.

What you'll do

• Own the information architecture, style, and editorial standards for Claude Docs as a unified site.
• Design, build, and run automated documentation systems including self-healing pipelines and AI-assisted review.
• Set conventions and tooling that product teams follow to keep docs accurate and consistent.
• Establish and maintain a style guide, standard content types, and workflows for creating, reviewing, and publishing docs.
• Curate cross-company contributions by editing for clarity and consistency and pruning stale content.
• Define and track content quality and discoverability measures using reader feedback and analytics.

What you'll need

• 5+ years experience at the intersection of documentation, user education, and software engineering.
• Knowledge of evaluation frameworks or observability for AI-powered systems.
• Experience guiding a documentation platform migration or redesign.
• Content analytics and experimentation experience.
• Modern software development practices including version control, CI/CD, and testing.
• Excellent technical writing and editing to set and standardize a high quality bar.
• Experience establishing editorial standards and information architecture for a substantial technical documentation site.

Details

• Hybrid policy: expect staff to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
• Visa sponsorship is available on a case-by-case basis.
• Annual compensation range: $270,000–$320,000 USD.
