Technical Product Lead, AI Email App

Overview

Lead the technical product direction for an AI email application, working across user needs, model capabilities, and engineering constraints. Own how AI systems behave, are evaluated, and improve over time.

What you'll do

• Define end-to-end requirements for AI capabilities and user experiences.
• Translate model capabilities, evaluations, and constraints into product decisions.
• Balance quality, latency, cost, reliability, safety, and UX trade-offs.
• Partner with ML, backend, and client engineers on system design and iteration.
• Build evaluation frameworks using offline metrics, online experiments, and human feedback.
• Identify failure modes and improve predictable system recovery.
• Own product quality, correctness, reliability, usefulness, and user trust.

What you'll need

• Strong computer science fundamentals and system design skills.
• Solid understanding of modern ML and production AI systems.
• Experience owning complex technical products end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered products, particularly LLM-based systems.
• Experience with model evaluation, experimentation, prompting, or AI system iteration.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into measurable requirements and executable plans.
• Strong judgment in uncertain situations and comfort working with significant ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping AI-heavy consumer products.
• Engineering or highly technical product management background.
• Experience defining evaluation metrics for ML systems.
• Experience with AI UX patterns, failure handling, or zero-to-one products.
