Product Lead, AI Email App

Overview

Lead the product development of an AI email application at the intersection of user needs, model capabilities, and engineering constraints. Define system behavior, measurement, and continuous improvement for reliable, useful, and trusted AI experiences.

What you'll do

• Define end-to-end requirements for AI capabilities, system behavior, and user experience.
• Translate model capabilities, evaluations, and technical constraints into product and system decisions.
• Balance quality, latency, cost, reliability, safety, and user experience.
• Partner with ML, backend, and client engineers on system design and iteration.
• Develop evaluation frameworks using offline metrics, online experiments, and human feedback.
• Identify failure modes and improve predictable recovery behavior.
• Own product quality, correctness, reliability, usefulness, and user trust.

What you'll need

• Strong computer science fundamentals and system design skills.
• Solid understanding of modern ML and production AI systems.
• Experience owning complex technical products end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered products, particularly LLM-based systems.
• Experience with model evaluation, experimentation, prompting, or AI system iteration.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Strong technical judgment and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping AI-heavy consumer products.
• Engineering or highly technical product management background.
• Experience defining evaluation metrics for ML systems.
• Intuition for AI user experience patterns and failure handling.
• Prior zero-to-one product experience.
