Technical Projects Systems Engineer

Overview

Technical Projects Systems Engineer for Customer Proof of Concept (POC) Labs in Cisco Global Demonstration Engineering. Responsible for development, planning, design, delivery, and coordination of POC labs across multiple Cisco architectures.

What you'll do

• Identify and prioritize project-related tasks and communicate project goals and objectives.
• Design, develop, document, and deliver POC lab content across Cisco architectures.
• Extract customer/account requirements and help create a design and test plan aligned to POC objectives.
• Serve as the primary engineer for a POC from introduction through build, test, and delivery.
• Properly document and plan projects prior to the build phase using standard design templates and tools.
• Act as a first point of contact for escalations and ensure fixes are documented and added to the Support Knowledge Base.
• Liaise with operations to resolve issues from development/testing and make design recommendations for fixes.

What you'll need

• CCNP/CCIE level or equivalent experience.
• Multi-architecture Cisco experience across Enterprise Networking, Data Center, SD-WAN, Security, Collaboration, and Cloud.
• AI-assisted engineering skills using Claude Code and Cursor to generate, review, and refine scripts.
• Hands-on ability to apply scripts through Ansible or Terraform to configure Cisco and cloud solutions end-to-end.
• Strong Routing, Switching, and Security background including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, DMVPN, IPSec, NAT, Trustsec, LISP, VXLAN, EVPN, and 802.1x.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN including controller deployment/design, template management, and policy management.
• Cisco Software Defined Access experience including Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) deployment/management and Cisco SD-Access Fabric.
