Overview
Technical Staff Engineer focused on high-speed FPGA characterization within the silicon characterization team.
What you'll do
- Technically lead a team for FPGA characterization with emphasis on high-speed protocols.
- Develop characterization specifications, plans, and documentation.
- Perform characterization of digital and mixed-signal FPGA designs.
- Verify Microchip’s FPGA timing and power analysis tools.
- Correlate pre-silicon results with silicon measurements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across characterization activities.
What you'll need
- 12+ years of experience in product characterization or silicon validation with emphasis on digital and mixed-signal circuits.
- 5+ years of experience with characterization and/or validation of serial protocols (PCIe/10GBaseKR/XAUI/SATA).
- Experience characterizing DDR, SoC, processors, PLL, and oscillators.
- Firmware development experience on multi-core microcontrollers or processors (ARM/RISC-V or similar).
- Laboratory experience using lab equipment such as BERTs, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
- In-depth electrical engineering fundamentals, including CMOS device operation and characteristics.
- Ability to use Verilog or VHDL.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of JTAG protocol.
- Working knowledge of SoC and/or FPGA architectures.
- Experience with FPGA design synthesis and routing tools (Microchip Libero, AMD/Xilinx Vivado/ISE, or Intel/Altera Quartus).
- Working knowledge of at least one of Java, C/C++, Visual Basic, or Perl.
- Analog and mixed-signal circuit design experience, including work with analog and/or digital systems.
