Technical Support Engineer

Overview

Technical Support Engineer to triage and own enterprise customer support cases for YugabyteDB, including diagnosing distributed systems issues and escalating when needed.

What you'll do

• Triage and own technical support tickets from enterprise customers while collaborating with a global team.
• Investigate incidents by reading logs, running queries, and tracing replication issues to find root causes.
• Write clear internal notes and handover documentation for ongoing continuity.
• Attempt reproductions of customer issues and document steps for others to replicate.
• Escalate to engineering with sufficient evidence to act immediately when warranted.
• Contribute to a shared knowledge base and improve handling of recurring problems.

What you'll need

• Technical background in any discipline (software, systems, automotive, aerospace, networking, electronics, etc.).
• Familiarity with Linux tools, including using find and grep.
• Strong note-taking habits to capture findings, attempts, and next steps.
• Experience solving real problems under real pressure with tools and documentation.

Details

• Work mode: Remote (Americas).
• Schedule: Monday–Friday.
• Preference for Central Time.
• Pay range: $90,000–$120,000 USD annually, depending on skills and experience.
• Position based in the U.S.; candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.
