Trade Surveillance Analyst

Overview

Trade Surveillance Analyst in IMC’s India Compliance team, supporting day-to-day surveillance operations and monitoring of internal and exchange-generated alerts.

What you'll do

• Investigate and resolve trade surveillance alerts across market abuse typologies including spoofing, layering, ramping, marking the close, wash trading, and insider trading indicators.
• Monitor and investigate market surveillance alerts and electronic communications to identify potential market abuse risks and recommend enhancements to controls.
• Manage alert queues, ensure timely investigations, escalate to the Compliance Officer, and close alerts.
• Review and calibrate surveillance alert parameters as new markets, strategies, and products come online.
• Maintain record keeping and prepare reports for internal approvals and regulatory submissions.
• Perform data analysis and reporting to support broader compliance team needs.

What you'll need

• 2 to 4 years of experience in financial markets surveillance in India at a trading firm, broker, regulator, exchange, or similar role.
• Degree qualified in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
• Essential experience in trade surveillance and market abuse detection; strong preference for investigations involving spoofing, layering, ramping, or wash trading.
• Experience in designing or calibrating surveillance alerts from scratch.
• Comfort working with large data sets.
• Working knowledge of SEBI and Exchange regulations.
• Excel-based data analysis experience including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and macros.
