02.Senior Backend Engineer

Overview

Senior Backend Engineer to work on PayPay India’s payment system and deliver a strong payment experience.

What you'll do

• Design large-scale, high-complexity systems for high-throughput applications.
• Develop tools and contribute to open source where possible.
• Adopt root-cause problem solving for production issues.
• Support and maintain the code written for production.
• Leverage infrastructure to solve large-scale problems.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of experience with strong Java skills and other general programming languages (e.g., Scala/Python/Go).
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and distributed cache.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub systems, and database clients.

Nice to have

• Experience in system development for finance, payments, or similar industries.
• Japanese and English language ability is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Use AI/LLM-based tools in daily workflows with human oversight.
