Overview
Process & Equipment Engineering Intern for GlobalFoundries Fab 8’s 300mm factory, working with an assigned engineer on process recovery, detection/LOD improvements, cost reduction, standardization, measurement, and improvement projects.
What you'll do
- Work with an assigned engineer to reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Increase the ability to detect problems earlier and enhance LOD.
- Reduce cost of chemicals and/or qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across like equipment.
- Enhance process performance measurement techniques.
- Lead improvement projects and present results.
- Collaborate with equipment and maintenance teams across engineers, technicians, managers, and production employees.
What you'll need
- Be at least a sophomore at time of application.
- Actively pursue a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field through an accredited program during the internship.
- Maintain at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Have English (written & verbal) fluency.
- Be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Nice to have
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in workplace, school projects, or competitions.
- Project management skills, including innovating and executing solutions and navigating ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
- SPC Controls experience.
