Staff+ Software Engineer, Account Abuse

Overview

Staff+ Software Engineer for the Account Abuse team, building systems to fairly allocate compute and prevent account abuse.

What you'll do

• Build systems that gather and analyze signals at scale.
• Identify key points in other teams’ code to gather signals or introduce interventions with minimal impact.
• Integrate third-party data-enrichment vendors.
• Create monitoring dashboards, alerts, and internal admin UX.
• Coordinate with data scientists to track usage patterns and trends.
• Partner with Policy & Enforcement to maximize human-review impact.
• Conduct root cause analyses and deep-dive investigations to identify abuse patterns and emerging attack vectors.

What you’ll need

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Be proficient in Python.
• Be proficient in SQL.
• Use data analysis tools.
• Explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Have 8+ years of industry software engineering experience focused on integrity, spam, fraud, or abuse detection.
• Have experience building trust and safety mechanisms for AI/ML systems.
• Have created security monitoring tools or infrastructure to support these systems at scale.
• Have worked closely with operational teams to build custom internal tooling.

Details

• Location-based hybrid policy: expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.
