Staff Software Engineer- Backend

Overview

Staff Software Engineer (Backend) for Hinge Health’s Content Platform team, building shared systems for creating, managing, enriching, localizing, publishing, searching, and delivering healthcare content.

What you'll do

• Design and ship systems for media and AI content pipelines across processing, captions, localization, publishing, and quality control.
• Coordinate media processing and AI-generated audio/video assets, prioritizing reliability and reusability.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, and deliver large projects that add product capabilities.
• Break down complex problems, resolve incident root causes, and ensure predictable delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and real-time pairing, supporting technical ownership.
• Improve maintainability, availability, and performance, contributing to architecture and developer tooling.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly and document solutions for future reference.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of experience with at least one software programming language.
• 4+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle.
• 3+ years of experience with React JS and Node JS/TypeScript.
• 1+ years of experience mentoring and leading junior team members and collaborating cross-functionally.
• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LangChain, or LangGraph.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript).

• Location: Bengaluru.
• Hybrid model: required to be in the office 3 days/week (Mon, Tue, Wed).
• Collaboration includes regular interaction with colleagues in San Francisco, CA.
