Overview

Staff Software Engineer for Platform & Infrastructure, responsible for foundational systems that support Samsara’s software products.

What you'll do

• Drive technology choices and establish architectural patterns with broad impact.
• Initiate strategic conversations to influence platform technology direction.
• Architect, design, and develop software to operate at scale.
• Lead teams delivering products and capabilities contributing to Samsara’s products and revenue.
• Solve hard technical problems to help products reach market quickly and with high quality.
• Maintain a platform-first approach while collaborating with infrastructure and product teams.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
• At least 4 years in an architect or leadership role.
• 4+ years building large-scale distributed systems.
• 4+ years leading cross-organization projects.
• Expertise working with web services at massive scale on cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
