Software Engineer - AI Platforms

Overview

Software Engineer for Figma’s AI Platform team, building core infrastructure and systems that enable AI features across the company.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance AI systems.
• Collaborate with product, research, and infrastructure engineers across AI.
• Support end-to-end AI feature development through engineering systems.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across services and stack layers.
• Help shape platform strategy, roadmaps, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and foster collaboration and technical excellence.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, especially in backend or infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience in AI, search infrastructure, or developer platforms.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong system design skills and experience architecting resilient production systems.
• Excellent communication skills, including cross-team collaboration and mentoring.

Details

• This is a full-time role.
• Can be held from one of Figma’s US hubs or remotely in the United States.
• In-person onboarding is required if hired.
