Software Engineer - C++

Overview

Software Engineer (C++) to build high-performance browser systems for real-time multiplayer design collaboration at Figma.

What you'll do

• Build core features and frontend infrastructure for a real-time multiplayer system using a complex in-memory SceneGraph data model.
• Optimize performance and memory usage for fast, reliable UX in the browser using C++/WebAssembly and TypeScript.
• Extend the C++ engine and multiplayer protocols to support scalable design systems and advanced collaboration modes.
• Design and build APIs and tooling for product teams to build against the platform.
• Contribute to accessibility strategy and implementation to ensure tools are usable by all.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to plan, build, and iterate on features.
• Write clear, maintainable code and documentation and contribute to architectural decisions.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping user-facing features or products.
• Strong programming skills in one or more frontend-relevant languages such as TypeScript, C++, React, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Experience working with web-based applications, browser performance, or real-time collaborative systems.
• A track record of collaborating across teams and disciplines to deliver complex technical projects.

Details

• Full-time role available from one of Figma’s US hubs or remotely in the United States.
• Required to attend in-person onboarding if hired.
