Job description

Overview

Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms, to keep infrastructure reliable, scalable, and secure. Provide L2/L3 support for the infrastructure and application stack while driving automation, reliability (SRE), and release excellence across environments.

What you'll do

  • Build and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to measure, identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
  • Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, using software scripting and coding disciplines.
  • Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats, including protection of hardware, software, and data from unauthorised access.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define infrastructure requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Build modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls, and release automation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect, Security, Platform and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ITIL-aligned processes and SLAs (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira).
  • Plan and execute OS patching cycles; maintain compliance with security and audit requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive runbooks, knowledge base articles, and support documentation.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives.

What you'll need

  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in infrastructure engineering activities, including IAC, automation, design governance and troubleshooting.
  • Programming language: Python or Java.
  • Core technical skills: Apigee Edge (Google Cloud), BusinessWorks, TIBCO EMS and MQ.
  • Technical skills: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Shell script, Datadog, Docker, containers, GitLab, Snyk, Qualys, Jira, Confluence, Maven, Gradle, and NPM.
  • Very good understanding and solid hands-on experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS.
  • Strong understanding of containers and hands-on experience in EKS/Docker, with the ability to write and deploy Helm charts.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data or domain models.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus) to improve release velocity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience with Blue-Green deployments and good understanding of other deployment strategies.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing.

Nice to have

  • JavaScript, Java, Cucumber, JUnit.
  • AWS services: EC2, ECR, EKS, S3, CloudFormation, networks.
  • Database design and SQL.
  • Operating system knowledge: Windows and Linux, with awareness of AIX.
  • System design and architecture.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modelling.
  • Ability to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation while applying sound engineering judgment.
  • Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities.
  • Experience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
