Overview
Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, ensuring reliability, scalability and security through software engineering, automation and incident response best practices. Provides L2/L3 support for infrastructure and application stack while driving automation, reliability (SRE) and release excellence across environments.
What you'll do
- Build, deliver and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to fulfil business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability and ease of use.
- Identify appropriate technologies and solutions to meet business, optimisation and resourcing requirements.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities or outages, using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, using software scripting and coding disciplines.
- Implement secure configuration and measures to protect hardware, software and data against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities and unauthorised access.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects and other engineers to define infrastructure requirements, devise solutions and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Build and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable and optimised for performance.
- Perform infrastructure engineering activities, including IaC, automation, design governance and troubleshooting.
- Build modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls and release automation.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
- Manage incidents, problems and changes using ITIL-aligned processes and SLAs (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira).
- Plan and execute OS patching cycles and maintain compliance with security and audit requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive runbooks, knowledge base articles and support documentation.
- Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus) to improve release velocity and quality.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organisation's technology communities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and team growth initiatives.
