Engineer - Infrastructure Services N 4A

Overview

Engineer role in Infrastructure Services at Genpact, covering data center operations, application and platform support, storage and backup, and automation in an on-site Bangalore setting.

What you'll do

• Manage vulnerability scanning cycles by analyzing findings, prioritizing remediation by risk/criticality, deploying patches or configuration fixes, validating closure via re-scan, and documenting results in ServiceNow change/incident records to maintain compliance.
• Install and administer MATLAB enterprise applications, plus Docker and Python application stacks in Linux environments.
• Configure and operate HPE/Dell rack/blade servers, including iLO/remote administration and routine health checks, with hands-on physical data center support.
• Raise VMS requests and escort vendors to the data center as per requirements.
• Conduct daily walkthrough inspections of data center infrastructure (servers, racks/cabling, storage, power/UPS, cooling, environmental indicators), verify system health and alerts, and log/escalate issues to the appropriate teams.
• Prepare and deliver customer reports per requirements (outage summaries, incident trends, compliance/vulnerability status, patching progress, capacity/utilization, operational health), ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Operate storage and backup platforms, including NAS/SAN, MSA-DAS/disk enclosures, SAN switches and enterprise storage (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC), and support inbound/outbound tape movement.
• Gather customer requirements, propose solutions, collaborate across teams to deliver data center infrastructure and new services, and provide advanced troubleshooting and user support.
• Automate OS deployment and hardening for Windows, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
• Plan and execute regular scheduled outages, incident/ticket management, and lifecycle/decommission activities in alignment with ITIL using ServiceNow.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Database Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Network Engineering.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, RAID and basic networking/routing.
• Working knowledge of NAS/SAN, MSA-DAS/disk enclosures, SAN switches, and enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• English language proficiency: Proficient (C2).
