Overview
Design fire suppression sprinkler and gas suppression systems as part of the Global Complex Engineering Fire Suppression Team, supporting Fire Life Safety Sales & Design.
What you'll do
- Execute projects independently throughout the lifecycle.
- Design fire suppression systems according to local codes and standard requirements.
- Review MEP drawings and tender specifications to identify fire suppression requirements.
- Complete input studies using the input checklist and raise RFIs.
- Prepare fire suppression layouts and engineering BOMs.
- Ensure quality assurance and defect-free delivery of fire suppression drawings.
- Follow all processes and guidelines to execute projects within timelines.
- Carry out project take-offs, specification interpretation, scope of work creation, risk analysis, building code compliance, and value engineering.
- Learn and use company design, bid, and quote tools.
- Design gas suppression systems including Novec, FM200, Inergen and CO2 systems, as well as sprinkler, hydrant, water spray and special hazards systems.
- Perform software hydraulic calculations, value engineering, pump room design, water demand calculation and coordination.
What you'll need
- BE or M.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics.
- 4-8 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Proficient written and verbal communication.
- Strong domain knowledge of fire fighting and gas suppression systems.
- Knowledge of BSEN, NFPA and relevant codes and standards.
- Proficient digital literacy in AutoCAD, FireCad, SprinkCad, Revit and Navisworks.
- Understanding of tender documents and specifications.
- Be a quick learner and team player.
- Be highly organized and able to optimally lead multiple simultaneous projects.
Nice to have
- NFPA certification; CFPS and LPCB certification to be attained within 12 months of the hire date.
- Suppression system and product knowledge.
