Application Engineer – Drill Bits

Overview

Application Engineer for Drill Bits, providing technical and application support to customers and internal teams to recommend drill-bit solutions and improve drilling performance. Suitable for a fresh engineering graduate or early-career professional.

What you'll do

• Provide technical support for drill-bit products and applications
• Support the implementation of product strategies, engineering standards, and best practices across the assigned market and the wider Asia-Pacific region
• Work with the sales team to develop account strategies, identify opportunities, and support profitable growth
• Prepare drill-bit proposals, application engineering studies, design recommendations, drilling-parameter guidance, and vibration-mitigation recommendations
• Analyze drilling data and product performance to identify opportunities for performance improvement
• Collaborate with customers and Baker Hughes design engineers to adapt existing products or develop new designs for specific applications
• Investigate unusual or unsatisfactory product performance, identify root causes, and recommend preventive and corrective actions
• Support field activities and visit rig sites when required

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
• Fresh engineering graduate or one to two years of relevant work experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills
• Ability to prepare clear technical information and confidently support customer and internal discussions
• Interest in the drill-bit industry and willingness to develop knowledge of its products, technologies, markets, competitors, and customers
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Hindi
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams
• Willingness to travel to customer locations and rig sites when required

• Standard five-day working schedule, with occasional field trips to rig sites
