Overview
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst contributes to application systems analysis and programming activities, including data initiatives and the build-out of a data analytics platform for the Prime Finance business.
What you'll do
- Identify and define necessary system enhancements using script tools and by analyzing and interpreting code.
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues; recommend programming solutions; and install and support customer exposure systems.
- Apply programming languages to design specifications.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions.
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
- Conduct analysis and execute tasks for data requirements, issues management, Data Quality rules, lineage, Data Governance, and taxonomy.
- Develop and articulate business requirements and map current and future-state processes.
- Contribute to strategic design and process improvement project implementation across lines of business and functions, collaborating with Technology and Operations.
- Own the capture and documentation of data requirements using user stories and Confluence.
- Collaborate with business users on requirements gathering, identify systematic data sources, understand data interlinkages, and understand logic or calculations performed on data sets and their use cases.
- Document test acceptance criteria and work with QA to develop test strategies for data and visualization layers.
- Work with development teams to break down requirements and ensure impacts are understood.
- Communicate project risks, define mitigation strategies, manage resolution, follow escalation and change control processes, and provide project updates to business and technology stakeholders.
- Assess risk in business decisions, ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to Policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry.
- Intermediate-level experience in an Applications Development role.
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of how various business areas integrate to achieve objectives, particularly within Treasury Finance.
- Experience in Data Governance, including Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Data Tracing.
- Strong investigative and data analysis skills, including intermediate SQL.
- Proven experience in building out data visualization reporting platforms.
- Proficiency in creating data flow diagrams and documentation for data integration processes.
- Ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences, drive consensus, influence relationships at all levels, and negotiate effectively.
