Overview
Architect - Backend at Payoneer to drive cloud modernization and architecture for migrating and re-architecting legacy platforms into scalable, secure, cloud-native systems, including AI-enabled capabilities.
What you'll do
- Serve as a core member of the Cloud Modernization initiative shifting technology to a cloud-native platform.
- Lead migration, modernization, and re-architecture of legacy platforms into scalable and secure cloud-native systems.
- Introduce AI-enabled capabilities by identifying high-value use cases and enabling AI adoption practices.
- Build and ship agentic systems with robust controls for safe planning, execution, and collaboration with humans.
- Define target architectures, establish modernization patterns, and drive execution across engineering teams.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions, modern infrastructure platforms, and secure cloud environments.
- Work with multiple teams to modernize legacy systems, migrate databases and applications, and improve cloud maturity.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Proven experience leading cloud migration and modernization of enterprise systems.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing cloud architecture covering compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Aurora.
- B.S. in computer science or equivalent.
