Assistant Director, Engineering Manager, Ministry of National Development

Overview

Engineering Manager to lead software engineers designing, developing, and delivering digital systems for the Municipal Services Office (MSO), Ministry of National Development (MND).

What you'll do

• Build and maintain backend services and frontend interfaces.
• Assess existing systems and provide technical direction and recommendations for system evolution.
• Design and implement integration layers, APIs, and services for interoperability and analytics enablement.
• Lead development through deployment and monitoring on AWS Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), including governance and security considerations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with PMs, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

What you'll need

• 6-8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack capability with specialization in backend and/or frontend.
• Proven ability to build and own systems end-to-end (0–1 and beyond).
• Strong coding fundamentals to write and reason about production-quality code independently.
• Comfort working with and improving legacy systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience building containerised or monolithic systems.
