Associate Business Intelligence Analyst

Overview

Associate Business Intelligence Analyst supporting PitchBook's Data Operations team, analyzing data and building dashboards and reports that turn private capital markets data into business decisions.

What you'll do

• Work with SQL, Tableau and Power BI to build, maintain and manage dashboards that power analytics for data-driven decision making.
• Design and maintain SQL views, Power BI datasets, workspaces and reporting structures used to compile insights.
• Build executive-level reporting that displays complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and presents findings clearly and concisely.
• Interpret and analyse data from multiple sources, spot trends, anomalies and outliers, synthesize raw data and create models to test hypotheses.
• Provide design support for business intelligence solutions, build an in-depth understanding of the business, and serve as primary owner of new report requests.
• Interpret business requirements and determine optimum BI solutions to meet business needs.
• Train users and executives to use reports, metrics and action-oriented information correctly.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Engineering, IT or Analytics.
• Basic SQL skills.
• Ability to work with a range of data and reporting technologies, with a strong foundation of rigor, quantitative techniques and efficient processing.
• Experience with BI/data visualization software such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
• Excellent analytical thinking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex data issues correctly and clearly to internal and external customers.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to define and organize tasks, responsibilities and priorities.
• Willing and flexible to work on UK shift, US shift and Indian holidays.

Nice to have

• Specialized training or certification and a master's degree.
• Intermediate SQL skills, with experience querying large datasets from multiple sources and developing automated reporting.
• R and/or Python skills for scripting, data manipulation, custom ETLs and statistical analysis.

• Location: Mumbai.
• Hybrid work model; in most locations, four days in-office each week.
• Works closely with business and IT teams.
