D&T Analyst I – Business Intelligence

Overview

The D&T Analyst I – Business Intelligence role designs, develops, maintains and launches Business Intelligence visualization and reporting solutions, translating business challenges and stakeholder requirements into dashboards and data-driven insights.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, maintain and launch new Business Intelligence visualization and reporting solutions leveraging Tableau and Looker.
• Implement enterprise Business Intelligence standards, best practices and approved BI techniques.
• Work alongside peers to apply best practices for data preparation tools, connected data approaches and data cataloguing.
• Develop, maintain and implement standard processes, tools and solutions to ensure best practices are followed in deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify approaches for data validation, metric definition and insight representation.
• Research and find technical solutions through technical community collaboration.
• Follow an Agile approach across design, development and stakeholder signoffs to roll out reimagined reporting solutions across the organization.
• Work with Sprints, User Stories, Tasks, Epics and Features in Agile.
• Develop technical architectures and prototypes for dashboards through coordination with product teams.
• Participate in project phases including defining core requirements, effort estimation, root-cause analysis, solutioning, development and deployment.
• Apply thought leadership to deliver insights through business domain and functional acumen.
• Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot technical and performance issues in the big data ecosystem.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify key business data elements and metrics to enable insights.
• Translate business challenges into impactful dashboard designs and technical builds.
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand project requirements and lead BI engagement, execution and delivery.
• Collaborate across functions to set internal benchmarks, develop critical metrics for new initiatives and recommend best practices.
• Coordinate triage efforts, resolve user issues and support system improvements.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Full Time) in Business Analytics or a related subject area.
• 4+ years of total experience, including 3+ years of relevant experience working with business stakeholders and designing analytical solutions.
• Extensive experience creating interactive dashboards using Tableau (Intermediate).
• Basic experience with other visualization tools, including Looker, Business Objects, Advance Excel and SQL.
• Good communication skills, capable of translating business requests into technical requirements and articulating the pros and cons of different technologies, platforms, design and architectural options.
• Basic understanding of data and analytics tools and concepts, including ETL, reporting tools, data governance and data warehousing.
• Basic understanding of data extraction using Google Big Query, SQL Server, SAP BW or SAP HANA.
