Lead Analyst – Business Intelligence (SQL+Semantic)

Overview

Lead BI analyst (individual contributor) who designs and governs semantic models and delivers trusted, reusable analytics solutions using Looker/LookML and BigQuery.

What you'll do

• Design and evolve scalable, governed semantic models in Looker, LookML, and BigQuery.
• Build reusable domain and use-case models with standards for performance, quality, security, and downstream use.
• Translate business requirements into views, explores, dimensions, measures, joins, and business logic.
• Define and maintain certified metrics, business terms, metadata, glossaries, guardrails, and test suites.
• Develop and optimize SQL and BigQuery solutions using dimensional modeling and cost-efficient practices.
• Lead governance for access controls, security, certification, monitoring, auditing, and CI/CD workflows.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree (full-time) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• 9+ years total experience, including 6+ years designing and delivering analytics solutions with business stakeholders.
• Advanced experience with Google Looker, LookML, SQL, and BigQuery.
• Proficiency in Tableau and Python.
• Experience building reusable semantic models, certified metrics, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled BI.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, ETL, metadata management, data governance, access controls, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git-based development, code reviews, CI/CD, and change control for analytics assets.
