Overview
As an Associate Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data warehouses to support analytics and BI reporting.
What you'll do
- Configure solutions (from pre-approved patterns) to move data into the business intelligence environment.
- Manage data integration and ETL jobs for tasks like consolidation, aggregation, filtering, validation, and data quality.
- Configure, deploy, and automate jobs using a reusable patterns framework.
- Execute production-level jobs with attention to dependencies, schedules, validation, and data stream updates.
- Design, develop, verify, and continuously optimize the data model based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with technical users and business stakeholders to define data requirements, business rules, and datasets for BI insights.
- Monitor error handling/logging, troubleshoot configuration and data errors, and implement monitoring/quality/validation for accuracy and integrity.
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Knowledge of Python, Apache Kafka, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS S3, and Pentaho Data Integration.
- 2+ years of data modeling experience and strong data warehousing concepts (including star and snowflake schemas).
- 2+ years building ETL using tools such as Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, or Airflow.
- Knowledge of MPP database architecture/design/implementation, including Teradata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- 3 years development using cloud-based analytics solutions is preferable (AWS or GCP).
- Ability to work across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations and communicate effectively.
