Data Engineer

Overview

Data Warehouse Engineer role on the Data team, building and maintaining data pipelines that power business intelligence and reporting for a SaaS and insurance business.

What you'll do

• Build and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer.
• Develop high-performance SQL scripts for complex data transformations.
• Contribute to data model design and refinement using star/snowflake schemas.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks to optimize query speed and cloud cost-efficiency.
• Translate business logic into technical specifications with cross-functional partners.
• Participate in peer code reviews and maintain documentation for the data warehouse.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional data engineering experience in cloud-based data warehouses.
• Experience with Google Cloud ecosystem including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM best practices.
• Expert-level SQL proficiency including window functions, recursive CTEs, and query plan analysis.
• Knowledge of partitioning, clustering, and data warehousing lifecycle management.
• Detail-oriented approach focused on data integrity and clean code.
• Excellent written and communication skills in English.
• Proven experience working with US based business teams.

• Workplace type: Remote.
• Location: India.
• Working hours: 8 hours excluding breaks, with 4 core US hours overlap (7:30pm–11:30pm IST) and 4 flexible hours (IST).
• Workspace requirements: quiet dedicated space and reliable internet connection with minimum 50 Mbps.
