Associate Editor

Overview

Associate Editor in the Editorial Integrity team, based in Gurugram, proofreading energy analysts' reports to the in-house style guide and tone of voice, giving writing feedback and delivering editorial training across the organisation.

What you'll do

• Proofread a steady flow of reports in a timely manner, managing your own workflow and engaging relevant stakeholders
• Explain amends where relevant so analysts learn for next time
• Apply style rules and ensure consistency to standards and accuracy; identify issues and escalate to the editor
• Help manage the style guide, updating and amending as needed, communicating new guidance and tips
• Maintain the editorial hub on SharePoint
• Deliver editorial training over Teams (and occasionally in person), such as short courses in writing, proofing and headlines, and suggest new training where a need is seen
• Coach a handful of ESL analysts in regular 121s where needed
• Liaise with line managers to provide guidance on addressing quality issues
• Support onboarding initiatives and contribute to maintaining editorial resources and examples
• Develop relationships across segments and collaborate with stakeholders across the business

• Attention to detail and strong command of grammar, style and expectations
• Growth mindset and appetite to learn and contribute, learning approach and techniques from the Editor
• Comfort dealing with ambiguity and showing initiative, applying editorial principles to new situations
• Confidence in communication and in contributing ideas, with the ability to deliver constructive feedback
