Associate – LMCC, Advisory

Overview

Associate role in PwC's Advisory line of service, Risk Management specialism, focused on software asset management and software license compliance within internal audit and risk services.

What you'll do

• Develop long-term software management strategy and goals.
• Develop and implement procedures for tracking company software assets to oversee quality control and usage throughout their life cycles.
• Monitor software licenses to ensure they comply with license agreements and usage standards.
• Establish and maintain linkage with budgeting and procurement processes to track software acquisition, utilization, and retirement.
• Collaborate with department management to define cost savings, software compliance and service improvement opportunities.
• Ensure audit compliance readiness.
• Drive continuous education and awareness of company policies.
• Assess, design, and implement key processes related to software compliance.
• Ensure software license compliance is met, and address any non-compliance issues quickly and efficiently.
• Operate and deploy SAM and SCA tools.
• Manage contracts and spend, including optimization.
• Coordinate with multiple teams, such as IT, Infrastructure Management, Finance, Procurement and Legal, as required.
• Work on automation areas for discovery and reporting.
• Perform and interpret gap analysis.
• Develop risk remediation strategies.
• Monitor software uses and highlight what users are permitted to do with software installed on their machine.
• Interact with software publishers and internal business teams on software license compliance and terms.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience in software asset management.
• Excellent knowledge of the hardware asset management process.
• Strong experience with asset management and discovery tools such as Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow SAM Pro.
• Experience developing, implementing, and refining SAM processes and procedures.
• Good knowledge of other service management processes, particularly change management.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Excellent English language skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a virtual environment.
• Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions, licensing knowledge and product use rights for defined software titles, along with contract analysis and negotiation skills.
• Participated in or led software audits.
• Understanding of standards such as ISO/IEC 19770-1 and ISO/IEC 5230.
• Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services.
• Highly competent at interpreting data, analyzing problems, and formulating solutions to present to management level and above.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, virtualization technologies, network topologies, software vendor license agreements and licensing terms.
• Understanding and mastery of software licensing for at least three major publishers such as Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, SAP.
• Familiarity with Microsoft O365 or similar tools.
• Knowledge of Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) licensing.
• Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.Tech / M.Tech / BCA / MCA / B.Sc / M.Sc listed in the qualification field).
• Required skill: Software Asset Management (SAM).
