Automation Engineer

Overview

Automation Engineer role focused on designing, integrating, testing, and commissioning SCADA/DMS and related automation solutions for electrical networks using ETAP software.

What you'll do

• Design and engineer SCADA, DMS, or related automation solutions for electrical networks.
• Perform commissioning and support for SCADA-DMS systems, including RTU/PLC communication.
• Install and configure SCADA-DMS systems on-site.
• Troubleshoot SCADA systems during and after installation, including fault finding.
• Implement industrial network connectivity in the OT layer.
• Create engineering deliverables such as control philosophy, FAT/SAT procedures, and user manuals.
• Execute SCADA-ADMS/Industrial/Solar projects and handle customer interactions independently.

What you'll need

• 2 to 5 years of experience in automation & SCADA solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of SCADA databases.
• Experience with communication devices including routers, firewalls, modems, and Ethernet/OFC.
• Experience with protocols including DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, and MODBUS.
• Experience with RTUs, IEDs, and PLC systems.
• Knowledge of selecting RTU/control cabinet components such as power supplies, UPS, and modems.
• Must have knowledge of PPC & MGC functionality and relay coordination.
