Backend Engineer

Overview

Build and maintain scalable backend systems and web applications for a modern service management platform. The role involves independent ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and solving complex technical problems.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain complex web applications for usability, performance, and scalability.
• Design and build enterprise-grade systems.
• Implement, test, and deploy high-quality applications.
• Collaborate with design, product management, and engineering teams to launch features.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Own product decisions and solve challenging technical problems.

What you'll need

• At least 3 years of experience with complex, distributed software applications.
• Knowledge of Java and Python.
• Strong database fundamentals, including caching, query optimization, and indexing.
• Experience building scalable APIs and platform systems.
• Familiarity with AWS and public cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug large codebases.
• Familiarity with code editors such as Cursor.

Nice to have

• Experience working with MySQL.
