BI Engineer

Overview

Permanent BI report developer role to create, develop and manage data sets, reports and dashboards that turn underlying data into decision-making tools for senior and operational management.

What you'll do

• Understand the organization's reporting needs and deliver data products and visualization solutions to address them.
• Contribute across all phases of Haleon projects (e.g. Plan, Analyse, Design, Build and Test).
• Leverage technical expertise to design and implement Power Platform based solutions satisfying requirements and meeting agreed completion dates.
• Adopt new approaches to solution design and functionality.
• Research non-standard customer issues in order to offer solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional technology and design teams to ensure consistent, positive client interaction and solution delivery.
• Design and develop applications and dashboards using the Microsoft framework (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Analyse business requirements through collaboration with stakeholders, IT management and the user community.
• Carry out database development in data analysis and data modelling, data warehousing, Microsoft SQL and MySQL.
• Ingest data, build data models and define reporting measures to provide insights through visualizations and information presentation.
• Develop and update technical documentation.
• Work with the testing and support team to manage client User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and fix identified defects.
• Deliver the product through development and testing environments into live, production workspaces.
• Advise on change control, embedding and user training needs.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of industry experience, particularly with Power BI, Qlik or Tableau.
• Power Apps development experience, both Canvas and Model Driven.
• Experience with Power Automate/Flow/Power Apps.
• Strong SQL skills, ideally with hands-on experience in the Microsoft stack.
• Experience working as an effective member of a scrum team using modern agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to deal with internal and external contacts at all levels, including communicating effectively with people of different nationalities/cultures in different time zones.
• Power Query: ingestion of various data sources.
• DAX: complex measure development.
• Power BI Service: workspaces, apps, security.
• Understanding of Pro vs. Premium features and suitability.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure resources (Azure SQL DB / DW, Data Factory, Storage Accounts (Blob Store / Data Lake), SQL, preferably T-SQL).
