BIM Engineer

Overview

BIM Engineer role creating and maintaining 3D models for high-voltage substations, delivering BIM projects in accordance with ISO 19650 and client requirements, under the direction of the BIM Coordinator or Project BIM Manager.

What you'll do

• Design, prepare and review indoor/outdoor equipment layouts, including general arrangement, civil interface/civil guides drawings and installation (erection) drawings for AIS/GIS substations in Revit 3D.
• Review electrical/maintenance clearances for indoor/outdoor substation areas.
• Design, prepare and review cable trenches, cable tray/ladder and conduit routing for the overall substation.
• Design optimized substation and building layouts integrating all required equipment, considering installation, operation and maintenance constraints.
• Support answers to client, partner and supplier technical queries related to plant engineering.
• Support project design and gate reviews.
• Support projects as a BIM Modeler based on project environment and needs.
• Coordinate with the BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator to support implementation of the BIM execution plan on large complex projects.
• Support continuous improvement within the plant engineering discipline.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university, with a minimum 4 years' experience in EHV/HV AIS and GIS substation design (Electrical).
• Knowledge of ACC or BIM360 and project functionalities.
• Proficient in Revit 3D substation modelling and design.
• Proficient with Autodesk CAD tools: Revit, AutoCAD, Construction Cloud and Navisworks.
• Experience with civil, mechanical and electrical layout drawings.
• Analytical mind, rigorous and committed.
• Professional English, spoken and written.
• Coaching skills in particular 3D tools and design/review software.

Nice to have

• Project engineering working experience with AIS/GIS substations.
• Project engineering working knowledge of HVDC/FACTS integrated project applications.
