Job description

Overview

Lead global Data Center Building Management System (BMS) engineering projects, independently owning and executing projects throughout the entire lifecycle. Ensure compliance with project specifications, customer requirements and account-specific standards while serving as the first point of escalation for technical and project-related issues.

What you'll do

  • Review MEP drawings to generate project drawings and documents for systems covered in Data Center projects.
  • Generate ACAD shop drawings.
  • Prepare detailed I/O lists containing hardware points, software points, integration points, trend details and alarm details as applicable.
  • Create bills of material and select sensors, control valves, dampers, air flow stations and controllers.
  • Generate panel GA drawings.
  • Generate detailed control device and controller wiring, terminations and interlock wiring.
  • Prepare engineering documents.
  • Prepare BMS network diagrams according to specifications and the approved solution.
  • Generate detailed descriptions of control operations based on specifications and design intent.
  • Generate valve, flowmeter, damper, panel and DDC schedules.
  • Prepare test scripts for panel factory witness tests.
  • Generate initial review sheets and RFIs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to clarify RFIs and track progress.
  • Coordinate with vendors during BOQ finalization.
  • Ensure quality assurance and defect-free hardware package delivery.
  • Adhere to processes and guidelines to execute projects within timelines.
  • Support the sales team during the pre-bid stage by providing or validating controls solutions for systems in Data Center projects.

What you'll need

  • BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
  • Hands-on experience with Hardware Engineering scope for the Data Center vertical.
  • Good understanding of Data Center mechanical and electrical systems, with expertise in instrumentation and control, panel wiring and complex relay logic.
  • Experience in detailed panel design, including power calculation and selection of panel enclosure, terminal blocks, fuses, panel heaters and light.
  • Knowledge of Data Center HVAC systems, including Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Fluid Coolers, Heat Exchanger, CRAH, CRAC, CDU, different types of AHUs, FCUs and VAV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of BMS architecture, including Operator workstations, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors and Actuators.
  • Knowledge of network protocols including BACNet, LON, Modbus and OPC.
  • Proficiency in wiring starters, field devices, safety interlocks and panels.
  • Experience in engineering, installing and commissioning HVAC and BMS systems for Data Center projects or other infrastructure projects such as pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings and hospitals.
  • Be a quick learner with a keen eye for problem solving.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in the Building Automation Industry Data Center vertical, BMS Design Engineering or Industrial Automation.
