Business Analyst - Tech Lead

Overview

Business Analyst (Tech Lead) role managing SWIFT-based automation of securities, cash, FX and time deposit file/blotter processing for back-office functions at State Street.

What you'll do

• Manage new demand asks from business and client services teams to automate client transactions via internal system workflow tools.
• Write user stories, review them with IT leads, and manage them across the BAU board.
• Conduct implementation of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Participate in onboarding client and Investment Manager SWIFT messages into State Street's Custody and Accounting applications.
• Complete analysis, validation and PROD release for assigned projects and cases.
• Meet with business, client service, and/or clients to discuss file automation.
• Perform thorough testing of client files and provide accurate feedback or suggestions.
• Track end-to-end project and file progress and provide periodic status reports.
• Triage PROD issues and provide insight to the business team on how to resolve them.
• Answer miscellaneous questions from the business.
• Investigate inquiries from various State Street organizations and follow through to ensure implementation problems and issues are addressed.
• Keep current internal procedures up to date.
• Facilitate weekend PROD checkouts.
• Generate SWIFT-alike messages from client data via blotter and test them over downstream applications to ensure they meet market and SSC standards.
• Provide timely feedback and suggestions to enhance STP rate.
• Proactively resolve PROD issues and escalate or highlight them in a timely manner.

What you'll need

• Thorough knowledge of SWIFT messages, securities products, FX and cash settlements.
• Experience onboarding client and Investment Manager SWIFT messages into Custody and Accounting applications.
• Experience working in various security products such as equities, bonds, fixed incomes, derivatives, short-term securities and more.
• Understanding of business processes and business requirements as they relate to transaction management and the platforms that process these transactions.
• Experience working with SWIFT MT messages.
• Experience working as part of a deployment team, including analysis and testing.
• Experience working with client servicing teams and clients.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ISO 20022 and MX SWIFT messages.
• Experience in transaction management, securities settlement, back office and middle office processes.
• Knowledge of the different security types, regulations and other market practices related to processing of trades.
