Business Development Specialist – Fire Engineering, UK and Ireland

Overview

Support business development for fire engineering and building safety services across the UK and Ireland. Build client relationships, develop opportunities and coordinate proposals in a specialist technical consultancy.

What you'll do

• Identify developers, architects, contractors, asset owners and other prospective client groups.
• Follow up on leads, enquiries, bids and framework opportunities.
• Explain fire engineering, fire safety, building safety and related risk services to clients.
• Coordinate proposals, capability statements, case studies and framework submissions.
• Maintain client relationships, support renewals and identify portfolio growth opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records through order conversion.
• Track market trends, competitor activity and regulatory drivers across the UK and Ireland.

What you'll need

• At least two years of experience in business development, bid coordination, sales support, account support or a similar client-facing role, or a degree-level qualification.
• Business English proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Strong client service, communication and listening skills.
• Strong coordination, organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Commercial thinking and ability to support opportunity conversion.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or another CRM platform.
• Experience with public-sector procurement, framework or tender portals.
• Experience in professional services, engineering consultancy, construction, fire safety or the wider built environment.
