Overview

Buyer role in ABB's Electrification business within the Distribution Solutions division at Nashik, India, purchasing materials to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms.

What you'll do

• Purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms.
• Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
• Identify new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.
• Initiate Purchase Orders in the system according to purchase requisitions and standard procedures, and confirm delivery with suppliers.
• Monitor and track supplier performance to PO requirements.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and periodically renew price lists and terms and conditions.
• Recommend frame agreements to management and execute upon approval.
• Analyze and evaluate bids to determine the optimal value.

What you'll need

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (should be full-time).
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in purchasing and procurement within the manufacturing industry, preferably in electrical commodities.
• Experience in procuring LV electrical components, including MCBs, auxiliary relays, contactors, meters, protection relays, CTs, PTs, Ethernet switches, and converters.
• Hands-on experience in SAP purchase order creation, supplier follow-ups, and ensuring material availability as per manufacturing plans.
• Knowledge of procurement, purchase planning, inventory reduction, material management, PPC, and inventory analysis.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of LV/MV switchgear products and electrical components.
