Buyer/ Planner

Overview

The Buyer/Planner plans material requirements, procures materials and services, and ensures timely availability of components to support manufacturing while meeting quality, cost, inventory and delivery objectives. The role reports to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager and sits in the Custom Engineering department.

What you'll do

• Raise and manage purchase orders for production and indirect materials.
• Run MRP and convert material demand into purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and expedite critical deliveries.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, logistics and sourcing teams.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels and safety stock.
• Ensure material availability to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery and invoice issues.
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Commerce, or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
