Overview
As a Vice President, Process Engineer in Corporate Bank's Front to Back Operations Transformation team, you will re-engineer processes, enhance controls, automate workflows and transform risk-management and client-service capabilities across Corporate Banking operations.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end process discovery and redesign across onboarding, origination, documentation, booking, transaction processing, servicing, settlements, controls and reporting for Trade Finance and Lending Operations.
- Define and implement the target operating model, clarifying activity ownership, roles, locations, capacity and hand-offs across Coverage, RTM/Middle Office, Operations, Technology and control functions.
- Drive simplification and standardisation, removing duplication, reducing manual touchpoints, improving straight-through processing and shortening turnaround times.
- Establish robust programme governance, including steering forums, integrated plans, RAID management, decision logs, scope/change control, quality assurance and executive reporting.
- Own programme financials and benefits realisation, including baselines, business cases, investment tracking, capacity impacts, productivity measures and post-implementation validation.
- Build alignment across senior global and regional stakeholders in Operations, Product, Sales, Credit, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Audit.
- Lead organisational change and adoption through stakeholder engagement, communications, training, procedure updates, role clarity and reinforcement of new ways of working.
- Use data, process metrics and client/operational insights to identify bottlenecks, prioritise interventions and monitor KPIs, KRIs, service levels and transformation outcomes.
- Lead, coach and mobilise cross-functional project teams, workstream leads, subject-matter experts and external partners across multiple locations and time zones.
- Provide concise, decision-oriented updates to executive sponsors; surface trade-offs early and resolve or escalate material delivery, risk, resource and dependency issues.
What you'll need
- Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in banking or financial services, including substantial leadership of complex transformation, programme or project portfolios at VP-equivalent level.
- Strong knowledge of Trade Finance and Lending products, operations and end-to-end lifecycle processes; familiarity with client onboarding, documentation, credit administration, booking, servicing and transaction processing.
- Demonstrated delivery of multi-year, enterprise-scale operations transformation, not solely technology implementation, with measurable improvements in cost, capacity, quality, risk or client service.
- Proven expertise in target operating model design, process re-engineering, organisational design, location strategy, service delivery and transition planning.
- Advanced programme and project-management capability across waterfall, agile and hybrid delivery, including planning, dependencies, critical paths, RAID, governance and quality management.
- Strong analytical skills, including process/data analysis, KPI and KRI design, management information, root-cause analysis and evidence-based prioritisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with credibility to align senior leaders and resolve competing priorities across business, operations, technology and control functions.
- Proven people leadership across diverse, distributed teams; able to set direction, create accountability, coach talent and manage vendors or consulting partners.
- Strong change-leadership capability covering impact assessment, communications, training, adoption, resistance management and operational readiness.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex issues and produce clear executive papers, steering updates and recommendations.
