Clearance, Settlement & Trading Operations, Associate 2

Overview

Support clearance, settlement and trading operations for syndicated bank loans held in mutual fund and other structured portfolios for SSC clients. The role works with investment managers, mutual fund counterparts and internal and external customers to process transactions, maintain records and provide reporting.

What you'll do

• Perform daily maintenance and record keeping for syndicated bank loans held in various mutual fund and other structured portfolios for various SSC clients.
• Process trades, booking receipts and disbursements.
• Reconcile cash balances daily.
• Produce daily roll-forward proof of portfolio holdings and accrual information.
• Prepare standard and ad hoc reporting for internal and external customers.
• Respond to customer queries on a daily basis.
• Process bank loan notices daily as received from agent banks.
• Interact with the Investment Manager on assigned portfolios.
• Input and settle trades.
• Perform ad hoc requests and provide daily reporting per client-specific guidelines.
• Work closely with the mutual fund counterpart to provide loan-related reports for incorporation into the final NAV calculation.
• Identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report or escalate it in accordance with corporate policy and relevant operating procedures.
• Perform daily processes accurately and within defined time frames and client requirements.
• Maintain daily contact with Client Service, Client Management, COEs and Business Unit Shared Service teams.
• Consult with the manager when clarification or an exception to policy may be required.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics with a specialization in Business, Accounting, Finance or another financial-related program.
• Strong computer competence, including Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
• Aptitude for math.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Oral communication skills.
• Multitasking capability.
• Ability to work under pressure in a deadlines-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Inter C.A., Inter ICWAI or CFA (pursuing).
• 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, loan servicing or related careers.
• 3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, loan servicing or related careers.
