Commissioning Engineer- Fire Suppression

Overview

Commission and test fire suppression systems, verify installations per drawings, document results, and support inspections and handover.

What you'll do

• Verify installation of pre-action sprinkler systems against approved shop drawings and specifications.
• Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing of piping networks.
• Test operation of pre-action and deluge components (e.g., valves and detection/releasing panels).
• Validate sprinkler coverage, pipe supports, and system zoning; test single- and double-interlock systems.
• Simulate alarm and release sequences to confirm system functionality.
• Commission clean agent and CO₂ gas suppression systems, including verifying cylinders, pipework, nozzles, and discharge arrangements.
• Prepare commissioning checklists/reports, punch lists, as-built documentation, and provide customer training.

What you'll need

• Follow compliance requirements including NFPA 13, NFPA 72, NFPA 2001, NFPA 12, and FM Global requirements.
• Coordinate interface testing with fire alarm system vendors.
• Perform cause-and-effect testing for gas release sequences.
