Computational Aeroelasticity Developer

Overview

Computational Aeroelasticity Software Developer working on aeroelastic and aerothermoelastic simulation technologies from subsonic through hypersonic regimes.

What you'll do

• Develop, verify, validate, and deploy advanced aeroelastic simulation capabilities.
• Implement low-, medium-, and high-fidelity methods including panel methods, hybrid CFD-panel, and CFD-based Euler/Navier-Stokes approaches.
• Build solutions for static/dynamic aeroelasticity topics such as flutter, divergence, gust response, and aeroservoelasticity.
• Collaborate with teams to create integrated multidisciplinary simulation workflows with CFD and structural dynamics.
• Develop robust, scalable scientific/commercial software including numerical algorithms and software architecture/APIs.
• Contribute to scalable high-performance computing support using parallel and accelerator technologies.

What you'll need

• Ph.D. with research experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Computational Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–5 years of industrial experience, or equivalent graduate/postdoctoral research experience.
• Demonstrated research in aeroelasticity across low to high speed flight regimes.
• Experience developing research software, computational tools, or numerical simulation capabilities.
• Programming experience in C++ and Python.
• Understanding of aeroelastic/aerodynamic methods and CFD fundamentals, plus structural dynamics/FEA fundamentals.
