Perform control panel engineering throughout the project lifecycle while coordinating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Apply engineering concepts on multiple gas-steam turbine and motor-driven projects associated with control products and engineering drawings throughout the project lifecycle, with a cost optimization mindset.
- Identify project risks and make mitigation plans.
- Work with and within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams.
- Design unit control panels in accordance with customer specifications, agreed deviations, country regulations, and internal design guidelines.
- Support others with business and technical mentoring and coaching.
- Select the bill of materials for PLCs and other control panel components in line with project needs.
- Produce purchase specifications for control panels and associated components.
- Engage with Materials and engineering suppliers for technical alignment and delivery plan consistency with the project schedule.
- Prepare basic engineering drawings, including control panel layout, network architecture, and power supply scheme drawings.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, including I/O lists, functional descriptions, cause and effect, functional specifications, and logic diagrams, using project P&IDs, field wiring diagrams, and instrument data sheets.
- Prepare, review, and deliver control panel wiring diagrams and control panel construction drawings to customers.
- Ensure cable schedules and interconnecting wiring diagrams align with panel drawings.
- Prepare control valve and flow element data sheets according to project piping, process, and customer specifications.
- Support sourcing for technical alignment and purchase order placement.
- Collaborate with sourcing, quality, project management, and other engineering functions locally and globally to support project execution and closure.
- Conduct regular project reviews to evaluate risks and develop mitigation plans while respecting panel quality and timely delivery.
- Participate in project calls or in-person support for kick-off meetings, design reviews, drawing finalization, and HAZOP/SIL assessment meetings.
- Support software validation and factory acceptance tests with customers at the panel manufacturer workshop.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with technical capability and responsiveness.
