Engineer Controls

Overview

Develop production-level controls for Eaton electrification products across power electronics and power distribution portfolios. The role covers requirements, design, development, integration and validation throughout the product lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Define requirements and develop power management, industrial automation, protection and energy monitoring products.
• Design and develop controls for HV and LV power converters.
• Perform analytical design calculations and plant model simulations.
• Validate software in MILS and HILS environments, including test plan preparation.
• Support production software development and integration for electronics products.
• Investigate and resolve difficult product-level controls issues.
• Guide controls engineers and track motor control and digital controls technology trends.

What you'll need

• Master's degree in Power Electronics or Control Systems, or bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience designing and developing power electronics and power distribution products.
• Knowledge of power electronics and converter algorithm development using model-based design.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience designing real-time embedded software for DSP or microcontroller platforms.
• Knowledge of system requirements and validation methods, including HILS and vehicle testing.
• Good communication, learning agility and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Cross-functional experience with engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain teams.
